European Study on Supported Employment and Digital Inclusion Kicks Off March 2025

This month, the European project LEAD YOUR WAY has officially launched its transnational research study on the current landscape of supported employment and the use of digital tools to promote the employability of people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities across Europe.

Coordinated by DOWN ESPAÑA, with methodological leadership from MASE (Malta), the study will be conducted in at least 10 European countries and involves several key phases:

  1. Desk research on national legislation, statistics, and programmes related to supported employment.
  2. Expert interviews with professionals, policymakers, service providers, and disability advocates.
  3. Accessible surveys aimed at individuals with intellectual disabilities and professionals in the sector, with a target of collecting at least 300 responses.

The research will identify key barriers, existing resources, promising practices, and levels of awareness about supported employment. Its findings will serve as the foundation for a European report and a good practices guide, which will inform the development of digital and educational tools within the project.

🔎 We need your input! If you are a service provider, job coach, employer, or a person with intellectual disabilities, we invite you to participate in the study by completing the survey in your country or in English:

Your contribution is key to shaping future policies and tools for inclusive employment across Europe. All survey responses are anonymous and will be treated confidentially.

Help us lead the way to a more inclusive labour market!
