Supported Employment in Europe: Research Design & Objectives

Our research focuses on identifying the most effective strategies for supported employment and digital inclusion across Europe. Through desk research and expert consultations, we have analyzed existing models and practices in several countries, including Spain, Greece, Croatia, Romania, and Malta.

Key Research Objectives

  • To understand the current landscape of supported employment schemes for individuals with DS/ID.
  • To identify digital tools and innovative practices that can enhance employability and workplace inclusion.
  • To gather insights from employers, disability experts and people with DS/ID to shape practical solutions for inclusive employment.

Engaging the Community: Survey for People with Down Syndrome & Intellectual Disabilities

As an integral part of our research, we have launched a survey that aims to better understand:

  • The challenges and needs faced by individuals with DS/ID in accessing and maintaining employment.
  • The role of digital tools and supported employment practices in enhancing their employability paths.

Existing statistical sources provide only aggregated data for people with disabilities as a whole, leaving a gap when it comes to understanding the specific employment needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Help us bridge this gap by participating in the survey!

The survey is available in 5 different European languages.
